About us

Instrument Systems GmbH, founded in Munich in 1986, specializes in light metrology solutions for manufacturers of consumer electronics, AR/VR/MR displays, MicroLED wafers, VCSEL and laser diodes, automotive lighting, and LED/SSL modules. The company’s solutions are based on the high-accuracy CAS series spectroradiometers and are applied in research, development, and production environments. In combination with 2D imaging cameras, integrating spheres and goniometer systems, precise and traceable measurements from UV to IR can be performed, with calibration traceable to PTB or NIST.

Products for the automotive and traffic sectors under the Optronik Line are developed and manufactured at the company’s Berlin facility. The branch office in Korea extends the portfolio with the Kimsoptec Line and primarily serves the local light and display market. Since 2012, Instrument Systems has been a subsidiary of the Konica Minolta Group.

The company participates in DIN, CIE and ICDM standardization activities and cooperates with professional metrology institutes. As a member of the MicroLED Industry Association (MIA), Instrument Systems supports the development of MicroLED display technologies.

LumiTop X150 – Ultra-high-resolution Imaging Colorimeter for MicroLED & MicroOLED Subpixel Metrology

The LumiTop X150 system builds on a proven measurement principle that combines a high-speed imaging camera with a CAS reference spectroradiometer to deliver both speed and absolute accuracy in a single shot. With an effective resolution of 150 MP—expandable to up to 600 MP per color channel using the pixel shifter—it enables detailed analysis down to the subpixel level. Luminance, color and uniformity can be evaluated for precise demura correction in production environments. LiveCAL real-time calibration directly on the DUT ensures highest color accuracy, making LumiTop the ideal solution for demanding display testing tasks from development to mass production.

LumiTop 5300 – Spectrally Enhanced Imaging Colorimeter for AR/VR, Microdisplay & Wafer Testing

The LumiTop 5300 is optimized for fast, high-dynamic-range measurements of modulated light emitters and precise pixel-level evaluation on display wafers. A wide range of objective lenses supports versatile measurement tasks across flat-panel displays, AR/VR optics, microdisplays and MicroLED wafer testing. Its 24 MP resolution enables accurate single-emitter characterization, while flexible magnification options allow detailed inspection across different wafer layouts and device sizes. Ideally suited for demura correction, defect detection and uniformity analysis, the system delivers reliable performance in both R&D and production. A hardware trigger ensures precise synchronization to the modulation signal for stable, repeatable measurement results.
